Middle of November

We've had some mighty nice weather lately, I guess we did get an Indian Summer after all. I was beginning to wonder if we ever would. For awhile the weather was really crappy but then we've had a streak of some really nice days. Today though it was pretty overcast and chilly, back to a typical Ohio day.

Yesterday I went out a raked and bagged some leaves...(We have what seems like tons and tons of them) and I managed to get five bags done and the old legs just had enough. I could barely stand after that, it's from the up and down bending to grab handfuls of leaves. And again....with the sweating, the only thing that sweats is my head. It's so weird, the rest of my body get's warm from the work but my head drips with sweat. I have sweat just pouring off of my nose and down the side of my face. It never used to be like that.

Last week I got to go to two "Take a Vet to School Day" events. One for my nephew and one for my grandson. I attended these last year too but this year was so much better. Last year I was still early into my TM and it was rough on me. Not only physically, but mentally also. I was in a very somber mood last year at Veterans Day. Of course, I wasn't medicated then either...
I really enjoyed going to these events this year, the kids did such a wonderful job with the presentations they did.

I've been keeping busy working on my carvings and also have been going full force with the International Disability Coalition, trying to get things rolling there. I'm trying to help Gunny build up the website and also build up the organization. We would like to see it have some recognition and actually be doing the good that it is intended to do.
We are currently running a raffle to raise some funds....
The raffle is for one of my canes and tickets are only $1 each. Even if you don't want my cane...we sure could use the donations. The money is going to Dr. Kerr at Johns Hopkins Research Center for the advancement of stem cell research. This could be the ticket for a cure...

So...I guess that's about all for now..
I'll post up some more soon. Now for a bit of music. Back in time to a great band...Blood, Sweat and Tears with I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know

Till Next Time......
